THE NEW GEORGE’S CARIBBEAN SOUL

About us

“Bernice’s Kitchen”   The aroma that wafted from this kitchen is what awakened George’s passion for cooking.  There is a deep and sincere feeling when George would recall his mother’s expertise in the Kitchen.  One of his favorites was her MAC & CHEESE, a recipe that he still uses today.

However George did not pursue a culinary career.  He would instead spend 15 years in the corporate field, but there was always the yearning in his heart for cooking.  After leaving the corporate world, George made a decision that he was going to be his own boss.

“Island on Wheels” was to be his vehicle to success.    With the aid of his wife (Angela), and friends and his already vast experience of cooking for his family and friends, George wasted no time in perfecting his skills with popular Caribbean dishes, like Jerk Chicken and Red Beans and Rice.  Along with the Caribbean dishes, George also offers popular American favorites such as ribs, tips, and catfish.

Deryck, George’s business partner also had a lifelong dream to own his own business, and like George, he also spent many years in the corporate world.  The two however got together through a cycle of events, and Deryck began working for George as a meat prepper and a pot washer, and as they say, “the rest is history.”

Together they share the same dedication not only to create the finest meals, but to also create a professional and easy going relationship with their clients.  They both believe that a happy client is the best advertising a business can have.

A SPECIAL THANK YOU

our story

how company began

Deryck Minto was booked on a flight for Florida.  A flight he missed!  George Hubbard’s assistant had quit that same day.  Deryck called George to tell him of his misfortune, and that he had nothing to do for the rest of the day.

George had no help on this same day.  George suggested that Deryck come out to help him.  George stated, “Come by and make some extra money for your vacation”.  Deryck did just that. This is how it all began.  Coincidence or Destiny?
